The foundry of cast-iron cannon whose La Cavada works Jorge de Bande decided on in 1634 and where two blast furnaces, of the four it came to have, were raised from 1635 to 1637. Carlos III expropriated it in 1759 and made it a Real Fábrica in 1763; the works were abandoned in 1835. Much of the industrial fabric has gone, but the bridge, the portalada of 1783 to 1784 and remains of warehouses and workers' houses are left; the site can be seen from the public road, though part is private and not visited, and a museum of the factory has stood there since 2006.
