The Real Maestranza de Caballería de Ronda, founded in 1572, built this sandstone bullring between 1780 and 1785, to a design attributed to Martín de Aldehuela, the architect of the Puente Nuevo. Its ring is 66 metres across, surrounded by a double row of arches on Tuscan columns; in May 1784, with the work unfinished, part of the stands collapsed during a bullfight. It can be visited inside, and under the stands there is a museum of the Maestranza and of bullfighting.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
