A convent of Dominican nuns founded in 1419 by Juana Rodríguez de Monroy in the houses of a Mudejar palace of the late 14th century, some remains of which survive. In 1533 the church, the work of Fray Martín de Santiago, and the cloister, of irregular pentagonal plan, were built over what was already there. The church doorway is Plateresque and the cloister capitals are of great variety.
