Years
1512–1833
Role
Head of a merindad, gateway of the Aragonese Camino

Sangüesa, on the river Aragón, has been head of the merindad of its name since the 13th century and the gateway to the Kingdom of Navarre from the Aragonese branch of the Camino de Santiago. After Castile's conquest of Navarre it ceased to be an important frontier town, but it hosted the Cortes of Navarre in 1530, 1551 and 1561 and, for the last time, in 1705.

To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one.
