The Franciscan convent founded in the early 13th century at the Val de Deus. The medieval building collapsed in the early 18th century and only five pointed arches survive in the main cloister, from the chapter house where Carlos V held the Cortes of 1520. The reconstruction, with the church turned round, began in 1742 to plans by Simón Rodríguez, and the façade, Baroque below and Neoclassical above, was still unfinished in 1770.
