The merchants' exchange that Felipe II wanted built to plans by Juan de Herrera, with work begun in 1583 and finished in 1646. It is a square building 56 metres on a side, with two vaulted floors around a central courtyard. In 1785 it became the Archivo General de Indias, which still occupies it, and UNESCO listed it in 1987 together with the cathedral and the Real Alcázar.

To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one.
