A palace that Pedro Enríquez and Catalina de Ribera began in 1483 by buying houses in the parish of San Esteban, and which their son Fadrique, the first Marquis of Tarifa, turned from 1526 into a blend of Mudejar and Italian Renaissance: the Genoese doorway was set in place in 1533 and the staircase and its dome were contracted in 1538. Benvenuto Tortello added the garden loggias in 1569 and 1570, and Juan de Oviedo made alterations from 1603; the library was finished in 1617. It belongs to the House of Medinaceli and can be visited, though one room is closed.
