A garden first laid out in the 18th century and designed anew by the assistant José Manuel Arjona at the start of the 19th, on the paseo de las Delicias. In 1825 it received the romantic touch it still has, with irrigation by a steam engine, and it was finished in 1830; in 1864 sculptures from the archbishop's palace at Umbrete were added. It has been a historic garden and a bien de interés cultural since 2004, and holds pavilions of the Exposición Iberoamericana of 1929.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
