A noble palace built over houses of the Pineda family that Catalina de Ribera bought in 1496 and rebuilt as a Gothic-Mudejar house; between 1515 and 1522 it grew into a Renaissance palace with Plateresque elements. It was restored in 1571 and 1572, when the gardens were also renewed, and the gateway dates from 1771. It has belonged to the House of Alba since 1612 and has been open to visitors since 2016.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
