A college-seminary of the Universidad de Mareantes, founded to teach orphan boys to be pilots, whose works began in 1682 and were declared finished in 1796, with stops between 1699 and 1722 and between 1736 and 1775. Of that building the main doorway, finished in 1734, the main courtyard by Leonardo de Figueroa and the chapel survive. Since 1992 it has been the seat of the Presidency of the Junta de Andalucía.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
