The bullring of the Real Maestranza de Caballería, which replaced the square ring of the Arenal, declared ruinous in 1733. The main gate was begun in 1754, the first three ochavas went up between 1754 and 1766 and the Prince's box between 1761 and 1765. Work stopped from 1766 to 1784 and again in 1799, with a third of the ring still to build, and Juan Talavera de la Vega finished it from 1876. It can be toured with its bullfighting museum.
