The north gate of the city wall, Almohad in origin (the reform of the sultan Ali ibn Yusuf, in the 12th century), which the renovation of 1723 and the rebuilding of 1795 by the architect José Chamorro changed completely: they removed its Almohad look and gave it the classicist air and the large royal coat of arms it has today. It stands on calle Resolana, and is one of the three gates of the wall that survive, with the Postigo del Aceite and the Córdoba gate.
