Tuy

Today: Spain

Years
1492–1833
Role
Capital of one of the seven provinces of the Kingdom of Galicia

Tuy, beside the Miño on the border with Portugal, was until 1833 one of the seven capitals of the Kingdom of Galicia, and in 1664 it held the Juntas of the Kingdom. In 1623 it received the title of Muy Noble y Muy Leal, and in 1640, in the wars with Portugal, its medieval walls were extended and adapted. From those centuries date the convent of the Clarisas, that of San Antonio and the church of San Telmo.
