The pantheon that Francisco de los Cobos, secretary to Charles I, had built in 1536 beside his palace. Diego de Siloé drew the project, Andrés de Vandelvira directed the work from 1540, and the church was consecrated in 1559. Its Plateresque doorway, carved by Esteban Jamete, and its sacristy stand out; Berruguete's altarpiece was burned in the Civil War and only the central Christ survives.
