A town of the Conca de Barberà whose lordship belonged to Poblet monastery until the exclaustration. At the sanctuary of the Mare de Déu dels Torrents, according to an inscription, the image of the Virgin was found in 1484 and the abbot of Poblet ordered it built; the present building dates from 1714. The sundial of the parish church was made in 1591.
