The church of the College of the Immaculate Conception, which the Jesuits built in the late 16th century on the site of the medieval Great Synagogue and which passed to the Royal Seminary of San Carlos Borromeo when the Society was expelled in 1767. From 1723 Brother Lacarre renewed all its decoration, with a high altarpiece of the Immaculate Conception and eighteen sculptures, and it is held to be the most sumptuous church in the city. The chapel of San José keeps six paintings by Vicente Berdusán of 1693.
