A Baroque bell tower designed in Rome in 1683 by Giovanni Battista Contini to replace the old, deteriorated Mudéjar tower. The Zaragoza master builders Pedro Cuyeo, Gaspar Serrano and Jaime Busiñac directed it from 1686, and it was finished with the bulbous spire in 1704, ninety metres up. The statues of the Cardinal Virtues, by Joaquín Arali Solanas, were replaced with replicas in 1910.
