Role
University city of Catalonia

A town of the Segarra with its Paeria since 1267, to which Philip V granted the title of city in 1702. After the War of the Spanish Succession the king chose it for the only university in Catalonia (1717), and lodging nearly 2,000 students made its population double. The university building and the Paeria house date from that time.

To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one.
