Years
1492–1833
Role
Market town of the Vallès Oriental

Its market is mentioned from 1040, and in 1418 the town was declared a "street of Barcelona". The stability of the 16th century and the prosperity of the market encouraged works such as the new Gothic parish church of San Esteban and La Porxada, of 1586 to 1587. During the War of Independence (1808 to 1814) it opposed the Napoleonic occupation and was the seat of the Junta of the Vallès district.
