A Renaissance hospital that Cardinal Tavera had built between 1541 and 1603, far from the old town, which also served as a pantheon for its founder; it began under the supervision of Alonso de Covarrubias and Bartolomé Bustamante finished it. The portal is later, from 1760 to 1762. It still belongs to the House of Medinaceli and holds the Museo Fundación Lerma and the Archivo Histórico de la Nobleza, whose consultation is free.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
